ABOUT

Born into a family of artists in South Pasadena, California, Deborah Denker graduated with honors from Art Center College of Design and then began her photography career in Brooklyn’s Dumbo neighborhood in 1983. She remained in New York City for eleven years, living in the Manhattan neighborhoods of Soho and Tribeca before returning to her native state and settling on the central coast of California. While continuing her work for clients in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco, she has also cultivated relationships with local businesses from the surrounding Central Coast area. She continues to work in both the advertising and editorial spheres, shooting for numerous magazines, design firms and advertising agencies. Deborah also teaches two photography classes at Cal Poly State University, and she has been teaching at Brooks Institute, Santa Barbara, CA. She lives in San Luis Obispo with her husband, artist Jeff Jamieson, and their two sons, Tyler and Cooper.
